OMN is a national award- winning student media organization where more than 400 students create TV shows, DJ on the radio, host and produce podcasts, break news, write, edit and shoot content for the newspaper and magazines, launch marketing campaigns and work with clients.
At OMN, we strive to lead the college media field by elevating diverse student voices through innovative and accessible hands-on media and leadership experiences that challenge views, build grit and engage the community
This campus newspaper was founded in 1896. It covers local news and events and brings awareness to important student issues. “The Baro,” as it is affectionately called, also provides a platform for diverse views and opinions in the forum section. In 2017, Associated Collegiate Press awarded The Barometer a Pacemaker, the equivalent of a Pulitzer Prize in college media. This art and literary journal is dedicated to the self-expression & creativity of OSU stuents from all backgrounds and majors. Broaden your musical horizons. Every hour on 88.7 FM and online at OrangeMediaNetwork, more than 100 student DJs select new and unique music they want to play, or topics they want to talk about. KBVR-FM is an FCC-licensed non-commerical radio station that can be heard anywhere within a 30-mile radius of the OSU campus.

This team is home for Beaver Athletics coverage from the student journalists of Orange Media Network at Oregon State. This team covers everything from football and soccer to club sports online, on social media, in OMN publications, and on a podcast.
Photography students work as freelance photographers for the different mediums, capturing a wide range of events and news in pictures. They regularly attend sports games, major events, protests, fashion shoots, and more to capture photos. This team of students supports all of OMN's marketing and promotional needs. They work directly with OMN mediums on social media management, event planning, and marketing strategy. They manage the general OMN social media accounts, run OMN tabling activities, create marketing promotions plan, manage the photobooth and develop strategies to build awareness and engagement.
This team of student account executives connects both on campus and community partners with media strategies to build their organizations, establish relationships with OSU students and grow revenues. These students will provide recommendations on advertising in OMN's mediums, website, online, through SafeRide, and more! The engineering team helps support the broadcast, technology and event productions at OMN. Student engineers get hands-on with video and audio technology, learning the ins-and-outs of a broadcast facility, to help make the best use of the facility for student productions.
No worries. You can take the skills you learn at OMN— critical thinking, problem solving, attention to detail, project management, leadership, grace under deadline pressure, interpersonal skills/teamwork, writing and communication, grit, curiosity, and more—and apply them to any career. Employers want graduates with these skills, and OMN students develop them through the process of creating national-award winning media.

At OMN, we help students of all majors and experiences develop marketable leadership and communication expertise while learning and practicing hands-on professional media skills. You provide the interest and enthusiasm, we’ll provide you with the technical skills, equipment, training, and mentors to turn your ideas into TV shows, podcasts, news articles, magazine stories, photo shoots, documentaries, marketing campaigns, and more.
All content at OMN is created, decided, and produced by students. Students decide and make what goes on the air, online, and in print.
