Orange Media Network (OMN) Marketing Associate2021 -2022

The Marketing Associateis responsible for promoting the OMN brand and increasing engagement with OMN’s six different mediums (The Barometer, KBVR-TV, KBVR-FM, DAMchic, Beavers Digest and Prism). As a marketing associate, you are responsible for tabling; leading tours booked on OMN’s calendar; distributing The Barometer, DAMchic and Prism throughout campus; conducting market research; developing marketing plans and launching events. You will also help generate revenues for OMN by operating the photo booth at client and partner events, developing sales collateral and working with the sales team on pitches and proposals.

As the Marketing Associate, you follow OMN policies and procedures to recruit and promote OMN while advancing Orange Media Network’s reputation for excellence as a welcoming, engaging and inclusive organization. You set the tone of campus and OMN as a collaborative, supportive and celebrative environment.

The OMN Marketing Associates should be familiar with or able to learn all aspects of each publication and medium at OMN and identify and facilitate connections between incoming students and OMN opportunities which may help them achieve their career and academic goals.

The Marketing Associate employment dates are as follows:

Pay Rate:
•Onboarding: 5 hours per week at $12.75per hour
•Full Start:10-15 hrs./week, at $13.50 per hour
NOTE: All positions and hours remain contingent on funding availability for the 2021-2022 academic year

•Is adaptable to a changing environment. Due to ongoing COVID-19 response needs, some responsibilities in this position description may need to be adjusted to comply with evolving health and safety expectations that are unknown at the time of this posting. Examples may include: studio and other facility use, social distancing requirements, and the need to conduct work remotely or on-site.
•Meets university eligibility requirements, including but not limited to:
   •Must be currently enrolled at Oregon State University for at least 6 academic credits
   •Must have a minimum GPA of 2.0
   •Must remain in a good academic standing from the term prior to selection and during the entire period of employment
•Must complete all elements on On-Boarding Curriculum

•Marketing AssociateResponsibilities

•Develop a marketing plan with tactics to drive engagement with OMN mediums and increase awareness of OMN programs and student opportunities
•Promote OMN at events including Welcome Week, street teams, tabling (at least one per term), OMN tours, class visits (at the start of fall, winter and spring term) and photo booth events
•Reach out to students who sign up for more information or leave contact info to help connect them to opportunities to get involved with OMN
•Develop marketing content calendar for OMN social media channels
•Review audience engagement online and on social media on a weekly basis and assist in creating and implementing marketing campaigns to grow engagement
•Distribute The Baro and the magazines every Monday (unless it is a holiday, then it is Tuesday) by 10am to all racks and distribution centers
•Collect a count of how many print publications are remaining to complete the Audit Sheets
•Strategizes on how to increase pick up rates
•Launch OMN, co-sponsored and client events, including event planning (book, assign tasks, etc) and promoting the events to generate an increase in attendance as compared to prior years
•Generate revenues through running the photo booths at client events (staffing, programming the logo and hashtags, setting up, tearing down and ensuring booth works prior to the event)
•Hold and post 5 -10 regular office hours each week for Orange Media Network, at least half of these hours should be during regular business hours (8 a.m. –5 p.m., Monday -Friday). Hours may vary during different stages of the term
•Collaborate with the mediums to support and assist with social media and digital strategies
•Actively work with the mediums to create marketing programs to improve the quality and engagement of OMN content
•Work with the sales team to develop pitch deck, sales collateral and sales proposals
•Grow audience engagement
•Work to ensure that OMN program content is current, relevant, and consistent with OMN’s mission, vision, and policies
•Ensure that you complete all OMN surveys and meet all deadlines
•Act in a professional manner at all times and create and maintain collegial working relationships with fellow student leaders, organization members, sources, stakeholders, partners, collaborators and the community
•Other duties as assigned by the adviser

•Respond to emails, messages, team chats and phone calls the same day, professionally representing OMN
•Notify adviser immediately should any ethical, legal, personnel or controversial problems occur.

•Be a collaborator with fellow OMN leaders in the shared use of facilities and equipment
•Be good stewards of OMN resources by ensuring that OMN equipment is only used for OMN work
•Alert professional staff immediately on issues with equipment
