Orange Media Network (OMN) Senior Creative Photographer 2021 - 2022

The Senior Creative Photographer is responsible for photography for internal OMN promotional work and for outside clients, and for creating an archiving system for OMN mediums and client work. They work collaboratively, as part of a creative team, on photography projects for OMN, including but not limited to promotional photography, client shoots, motion graphics for tutorials and instructional photography.

Pay Rate: 
Average 10-15 hours per week at $13.50 per hour

NOTE:  Position and hours remain contingent on funding availability for the 2021-2022 academic year


  • Proficient knowledge of Photoshop, Lightroom or other photo editing software
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively
  • Eye for visual composition
  • Comfortable shooting and editing photos
  • Knowledgeable about shooting in different settings
  • Ability and interest in learning to create photo content for all media platforms
  • Knowledgeable of legal regulations and ethical principles guiding client photography
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Track record for listening to clients, communicating what services will be provided (based on what the client wants) and delivering the services as communicated
  • Is a strong writer, communicator and comfortable with public speaking
  • Is organized and reliable
  • Is comfortable giving and receiving feedback
  • Able to remain professional and calm when working with difficult individuals and situations
  • Is adaptable to a changing environment. Due to ongoing COVID-19 response needs, some responsibilities in this position description may need to be adjusted to comply with evolving health and safety expectations that are unknown at the time of this posting. Examples may include: studio and other facility use, social distancing requirements, and the need to conduct work remotely or on-site.
  • Meets university eligibility requirements, including but not limited to:
    • Must be currently enrolled at Oregon State University for at least 6 academic credits
    • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.0
    • Must remain in a good academic standing from the term prior to selection and during the entire period of employment


  • Senior Creative Photographer Responsibilities
    • Meet all deadlines
    • Conduct shoots for promotional photography, public service announcements, house advertisements and other special graphic and photo needs, collaborate with other members of the Creative team as needed
    • Oversee creation and upkeep of photo archive system for client and OMN media
    • Behind-The- Scenes photos of each medium (ongoing).
    • Create photos for outside clients, as directed by supervisor
    • Collaborate closely with others on projects including designers, journalists, photographers, editors, marketers and student leaders
    • Advise and assist with the work of other OMN students on their photo projects
    • Grow audience engagement
    • Work to ensure that OMN program content is current, relevant, and consistent with OMN’s mission, vision, and policies
    • Ensure that you complete all OMN surveys and meet all deadlines
    • Act in a professional manner at all times and create and maintain collegial working relationships with fellow student leaders, organization members, sources, stakeholders, partners, collaborators and the community
    • Other duties as assigned by the adviser
  • Communication
    • Respond to emails, messages, team chats and phone calls the same day, professionally representing OMN
    • Notify adviser immediately should any ethical, legal, personnel or controversial problems occur.
